HOW TO REPORT AN ANIMAL:
The number of stray and abandoned animals on Boracay is overwhelming. Every day, we receive reports of dogs and cats in need—many of them sick, injured, or at risk of euthanasia. There also are countless cases where kittens and puppies get thrown out and separated from their mom and left to starve. Our small volunteer team does everything we can to help as many as possible, but with limited resources, we can only help as many as our funding allows. BAARC relies entirely on donations to feed, shelter, and provide medical care for these animals. Please consider supporting our efforts.
If you are here to report an animal to us, please include the exact location and time you saw the animal plus a photo or video so we can better access the age and condition of the animal and find a rescuer or person willing to foster or transport them. Please know that we are COMPLETELY volunteer based and receive multiple reports a day. We respond as quickly as we are able to but it depends on availability of our volunteers. If you see an animal in distress and are able to bring them to the vet and help cover the initial consultation and tests, it helps an animal receive care quicker.
Since we are a new organization and still finding investors and support to build our permanent shelter in Boracay, we often partner with Aklan Animal Adoption & Rehabilitation Center, who have been around for over 10 years in Kalibo. They have over 150 rescues in their shelter and a fulltime staff looking after them. However, in order to take in a new animal, they must have a secure ongoing monthly sponsorship of 1,300 pesos. If you are willing to sponsor a rescued animal from Boracay with a reoccuring monthly donation to live in a shelter, please reach out to us.
